The Bureau of Meteorology has predicted that temperatures in Melbourne will soar to 40°C on Boxing Day, prompting fans to prepare for the heat alongside stars such as Nathan Lyon (as depicted). Officials will assess the heat stress risk index prior to the match on Thursday and will take appropriate measures. This forecast stands in stark contrast to the rain-affected Boxing Day Test of 2023, although it is unlikely to reach the extremes witnessed during the 2018 Ashes Test in Sydney, where temperatures peaked at 43 degrees.

India has been training at the MCG for several days, and there are whispers from their camp regarding the quality of the net wickets. In response, Page noted that the preparation of the net wickets is standard practice leading up to Boxing Day.
