Srinivasa Reddy Kandi: Anthropic Unveils Opus 4.5 with Enhanced Chrome and Excel Integrations

Anthropic Unveils Opus 4.5 with Enhanced Chrome and Excel Integrations:

Opus 4.5 continues to set the bar high with exceptional performance across multiple benchmarks, including coding challenges (SWE-Bench and Terminal-bench), tool use (tau2-bench and MCP Atlas), and general problem-solving (ARC-AGI 2, GPQA Diamond). Notably, it is the first model to exceed 80% on SWE-Bench, a prestigious coding benchmark.

Anthropic has also highlighted Opus 4.5’s enhanced capabilities in handling computer and spreadsheet tasks. Alongside the release of the model, Anthropic is expanding access to its Claude for Chrome and Claude for Excel tools—previously in limited pilot—making them available to a broader user base. Claude for Chrome will be accessible to all Max users, while the Excel-focused model will be available to Max, Team, and Enterprise users.

One of the key improvements in Opus 4.5 is its memory management for long-context operations, which involved significant changes in how the model handles data. According to Dianne Na Penn, Anthropic’s head of product management for research, the improvements enhance long-context quality while also addressing the need to remember relevant details, not just extend context windows.

Additionally, Opus 4.5 introduces the much-anticipated “endless chat” feature for paid Claude users. This feature allows conversations to continue seamlessly even when the model’s context window is reached. Instead of interrupting the user, the model will compress its context memory, ensuring smooth, uninterrupted interactions.
