Srinivasa Reddy Kandi: Multiple London Councils Disrupted by Ongoing Cyberattack, Investigation Underway

Multiple London Councils Disrupted by Ongoing Cyberattack, Investigation Underway:

At least three London councils are currently dealing with the aftermath of a cyberattack, which has led officials to shut down networks, phone lines, and activate emergency response plans. The affected councils include those overseeing the boroughs of Kensington and Chelsea, Westminster, and Hammersmith & Fulham.

Kensington and Westminster share IT systems under a joint arrangement, and both councils have confirmed they are focused on protecting systems and data, restoring functionality, and maintaining essential public services. The councils provide services including housing, social care, and waste collection, which continue to operate amid the disruption.

While the nature of the attack remains unclear, the councils have yet to attribute it to any specific hacking group. Investigations are still ongoing to determine whether any data was stolen. Kensington's official website noted that the cause of the cyberattack has been identified, but further details will not be disclosed at this time as they are working closely with U.K. law enforcement.

This cyberattack underscores the growing threat to critical local government infrastructure and the continued importance of robust cybersecurity measures.
